Family Holidays In Europe That Won’t Break The Bank

Family Holidays In Europe That Won’t Break The Bank

If you need to find an inexpensive holiday this year, but can’t face staying in the UK, you can save quite a reasonable amount of money, as long as you stay fairly close to home (Europe) on your travels. These destinations will keep you in sun, sand, and sea, but they will also keep you in pocket too.

Halkidiki, Greece

Looking eerily like a three-fingered claw, Halkidiki is anything but sinister. It’s a surprisingly less well-known holiday destination, which is a shame, considering how beautiful this area is, but it’s a serious boon for anyone who has discovered it for themselves, as it’s not too beaten down by tourists. With Areti Camping, you can pitch a tent on the glorious beach front and enjoy a variety of activities during the day, such as volleyball and watersports.

Domes, Southern Spain

Looking as if they were constructed by an ancient tribe, the domes of Otro Mundo in Spain come with 1960s style décor and a spring-fed swimming pool, which is perfect to cool off in on a hot day. There are plenty of cycling paths to explore, and if you get tired of riding around on two wheels, you can send the children off to the play area, while you kick-back with a well-deserved glass of vino. You can self-cater your holiday in the shared kitchen, meaning that you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on meals out. Nearby, there are ancient sites and 10,000 year old cave paintings, so there really is a wealth of things to do.

Farm Holiday, Austria

If your family loves animals, they are going to absolutely adore this farm holiday in Pitzall alpine valley. Children can enjoy the natural environment from the comfort of a tractor, or they can explore the area on their bikes. There’s a variety of fauna: natural wildlife and those that live on the farm. When you’re feeling shattered from exploring the mountainous terrain, you can visit the three saunas (yes, three), where you can pamper yourself during the day. There is even a kids’ club, where you can drop your children off, so you get some alone time with your partner.

Eco Village, Slovenia

If your family is green at heart, head to this eco village, situated on a lake in Slovenia. There is a restaurant on-site, supplied by the gardens throughout the small settlement, and you can stay in an impressive array of unique tents. That doesn’t mean that you’re roughing it though; there are treehouses and glamping areas too, where you can chill out with a TV, a hot tub, and your very own kitchen. Who said that being green means giving up your holiday creature comforts?

All this is very well and good, but be sure to save money by getting the best flight deal that you can find. To find out more, check out Bravofly’s iOS app, and cut more cash off your holiday bill.
